Design/Build Challenge: Drop Box Derby

Lovett Deconstruction:  2034 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, OR 97232

Friends, Colleagues, and Creative Junkies!

Lovett Deconstruction is excited to announce the first annual Drop Box Derby on September 30th, a one-day design build competition using salvaged materials.

This friendly, festive event (Portland Block Party meets Iron Chef) will feature a pig roast, local Portland cider, and live music.

The event will host ten teams of 2-4 members each. Each team will receive identical batches of salvaged (mostly wood) material and a set of parameters. Teams will have 4 hours to design and build a piece. A panel of 4 judges will select the top three designs for which prizes will be awarded.

While sipping cider and rubbing elbows with builders and makers, attendees will be able to bid in a silent auction on pieces as they are being made. All proceeds will go to Sisters of the Road

Interested teams should contact Ann Lawson to sign up! Spread the word!
